Metal Repair Done Right. Not Just Done Fast.
From broken welds and rust damage to bent structural metal and failing hinges, we repair what others walk away from — and we give you an honest assessment every single time. On-site or in-shop. Free estimates. No runaround.
WE TELL YOU THE TRUTH ABOUT YOUR REPAIR
There are two kinds of metal repair shops. The kind that takes your money, slaps a fix on it, and sends you on your way. And the kind that actually tells you what is going on, what your options are, and what the right call is for your specific situation.
We are the second kind.
At Metal Head Fabrication LLC, every repair job starts with an honest conversation. Some repairs are straightforward — a broken weld, a bent rail, a seized hinge. We fix it, it holds, and you go home happy. But some repairs are more complicated than they appear on the surface. When a structural element has deteriorated to a certain point, or when the liability of a band-aid fix outweighs its value, we tell you that directly — before any work begins.
We will always walk you through your options. Sometimes a targeted repair is exactly the right call and will serve you well for years. Other times, a proper rebuild or replacement is the safer and more cost-effective path in the long run. We give you that information clearly and honestly so you can make the best decision for your property, your budget, and your safety.
That is what a veteran-owned business looks like. No shortcuts. No up-selling. Just straight talk and solid work.
WHAT WE BUILD
Custom Railings for Every Application
-
Broken Welds & Structural Failures
-
A failed weld is not just cosmetic — it is a structural problem that gets worse the longer it goes unaddressed. We diagnose the cause of the failure, properly prepare the joint, and re-weld it to a standard that holds. Not a patch. A repair done right.
-
-
Rust & Corrosion Damage
-
Surface rust is manageable. Deep corrosion is a different story. We assess how far the damage has gone, remove deteriorated material, treat the affected area, and restore structural integrity where possible. We finish with powder coating or protective treatment to stop the problem from coming back.
-
-
Bent & Damaged Metal
-
Impact damage, vehicle strikes, weather events, or just years of use — bent and deformed metal can often be straightened, reformed, and restored to working condition. We will tell you upfront whether a piece is worth saving or whether replacement makes more sense.
-
-
Broken Hinges & Hardware
-
A gate that won't open smoothly, a door that sags, a railing bracket that has pulled loose — these are the kinds of problems that seem small but create real daily frustrations and, left long enough, bigger structural issues. We repair and replace hinges, pins, brackets, latches, and all associated hardware.
-
-
Reinforcing Weak & Aging Metalwork
-
Not every piece of metalwork needs to be broken to need attention. If you have an older gate, railing, staircase, or structural element that is showing signs of fatigue — flex where there shouldn't be, movement at joints, thinning metal — we can reinforce and stabilize it before it becomes a serious problem.
-
-
Powder Coat Stripping & Refinishing
-
A repair is only as good as its finish. After structural work is complete, we can strip old or damaged powder coat, prep the surface properly, and apply a new finish that protects the metal and restores its appearance. We match colors where possible and give you a finished result that looks intentional, not patched.
-
-
On-Site Field Repairs
-
Some repairs cannot come to us — they have to stay where they are. Large gates, installed railings, fixed structural elements, and commercial installations all require us to come to you. We bring the equipment and the expertise to your property and handle the repair in place, minimizing disruption to your space and your schedule.
-
- In-Shop Repairs
- For items that can be safely removed and transported, bringing the work into our shop allows for a more controlled environment, better access, and a cleaner finished result. If you are unsure whether your item qualifies for in-shop repair, just call us and we will talk through the logistics.
OUR APPROACH
The Band-Aid Conversation
Every metal repair involves a judgment call — and we believe that judgment call belongs to you, not us.
When you bring us a repair job, we assess it thoroughly and give you a straight answer about what we are looking at. In most cases, a targeted repair is entirely appropriate and will perform well for years. We do that work confidently and stand behind it.
But in some situations — particularly where structural integrity, safety, or liability are involved — we will tell you plainly if a band-aid fix is not the right answer for your specific piece. Not to up-sell you. Not to pad the bill. Because putting our name on a repair that we do not believe in is not something we are willing to do.
We would rather have a frank conversation with you upfront than have you come back six months later with a bigger problem.
That conversation costs you nothing. Estimates are always free.
WHO WE WORK WITH
RESIDENTIAL HOMEOWNERS
-
Gates that have stopped latching. Railings with loose posts. Fencing that took a hit. We handle residential repairs of all sizes with the same level of care we bring to full custom fabrication jobs.
COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES & BUSINESSES
-
Commercial metalwork takes a beating. High-traffic entrances, loading dock hardware, safety railings, and exterior elements all face constant use and exposure. We work with business owners and property managers to keep commercial metalwork safe, functional, and up to code.
CONTRACTORS & BUILDERS
-
If you are a general contractor or builder who needs a reliable metal repair partner on a project, we are a call away. We understand construction timelines, job site logistics, and the importance of getting it done right the first time so the project keeps moving.
How It Works
From Measurement to Installation in 4 Steps
Step 1 — Free Estimate
-
Contact us and describe what you are dealing with. We will ask a few questions, and if needed, schedule a time to assess the repair in person — at your property or at our shop. The estimate costs you nothing.
Step 2 — Honest Assessment & Options
-
We tell you exactly what we see. What caused it, what it will take to fix it properly, and whether there are any factors that affect how we approach the repair. If there is a conversation to be had about the scope or approach, we have it here — before any work starts.
Step 3 — Repair
-
Once you give us the green light, we get to work. Whether that is on your property or in our shop, we execute the repair to the same standard we hold all of our fabrication work to. No shortcuts.
Step 4 — Finish & Follow-Up
- Where applicable, we finish the repaired area — grinding, blending, powder coating, or painting — so the repair integrates with the surrounding metal as cleanly as possible. We walk you through the completed work before we call it done.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything You Need To Know About Custom Metal Railings
-
How much does a metal repair cost?
-
Every repair is different, which is why we offer free estimates. The cost depends on the type of damage, the material, the scope of work, and whether it requires on-site or in-shop repair. We give you a clear, detailed quote before any work begins so there are no surprises.
-
-
Do you come to my property or do I bring the item to you?
-
Both! For items that can be safely removed and transported, in-shop repairs often allow for a cleaner and more thorough result. For installed items like gates, railings, and structural elements, we come to you. We will figure out the best approach together during your free estimate.
-
-
Can all metal items be repaired?
-
Most can. However, some items — particularly those with significant structural deterioration or high safety implications — require a frank conversation before we agree to take the job. Our priority is always doing right by you and by the integrity of the finished repair. If we have concerns about a particular job, we will tell you clearly and walk you through your options.
-
-
What is the difference between a repair and a replacement?
-
A repair addresses a specific area of damage while preserving the existing piece. A replacement means fabricating a new component or full item from scratch. We always aim to give you an honest recommendation on which makes more sense based on the condition of the piece, the cost comparison, and the expected lifespan of each option.
-
-
Do you repair items you did not originally fabricate?
-
Yes! We repair metalwork regardless of who made it originally. As long as we can assess the piece and feel confident in the quality of the repair, we will take the job.
-
-
Can you match the finish on my existing metalwork after a repair?
-
We do our best to blend the finish as seamlessly as possible. For powder coated surfaces, we can often match the color closely. For painted or patinated surfaces, we discuss the best finishing approach during the estimate. In some cases, refinishing the full piece produces a better overall result than spot finishing — and we will tell you if that is the case.
-
-
How do I know if something is worth repairing versus replacing?
-
That is exactly the kind of question we help you answer during the free estimate. We look at the condition of the piece, the extent of the damage, the cost of repair versus replacement, and the expected lifespan of the repaired item — and we give you our honest recommendation based on all of those factors.
-
-
Do you repair rusty metal?
-
Yes! Surface rust and moderate corrosion are very manageable. We remove the rust, treat the underlying metal, make any necessary structural repairs, and apply a protective finish to prevent recurrence. Severe corrosion that has compromised the structural integrity of a piece may require partial or full replacement — and we will tell you if that is the case.
-
